Scenic national forests, historic villages, Native American crafts, winter and summer recreation, opportunities to make new friends, breath-taking environmental beauty- all await you in Angel Fire!

Angel Fire is in the Rocky Mountains just forty miles south of the Colorado border, and is part of the historic Maxwell Land Grant of 1841. Located in the Moreno Valley, the village elevation is 8600 feet and is surrounded by mountains- some exceeding 13,000 feet. The character of Angel Fire follows the seasons. Winter skiing offers 52 trails totaling 30 miles with emphasis on family skiing. Our average annual snowfall is 140 inches. The warmth of spring swells the mountain streams and lakes and fragrant wildflowers replace the snow. The return of the hummingbirds reminds us that it is time for fishing, hiking and naturephotography. During the summer the entire "enchanted circle" comes alive with social events.

Angel fire hosts its annual Wings over Angel Fire, Summer Artsfest, Music From Angel Fire and Music From the Mountains festivals. Shopping both here and in nearby Taos offers a unique blend of American Indian, Hispanic and Anglo cultures.

In late September and into October, our forests become quilted with patches of golden aspen amongst the green pine and blue sky, turning an always photogenic area into a photographer's paradise. Away from city lights and 8,600 feet closer to heaven than the ocean, our night sky explodes with a dazzling display of stars. Located above the village of Angel Fire and surrounded by pine trees. Our living room view of Wheeler Peak framed by mountain pines is the best in the area.

We are 7 miles from the Disabled American Veterans Memorial, 12 miles from renowned Eagle Nest State fishing lake, 23 miles from Taos, 40 miles from Philomont Boy Scout Ranch and are on the eastern edge of the Carson National Forest.

Modern interior decor emphasizes New Mexican culture. Distinctive upstairs and downstairs living rooms include unique fireplaces and plenty of seating room. Good places to share conversation, experience and friendship around the fire with coffe and cookies.

Regional dishes prepared on request. Fresh baked muffins or pastries are available as well. All rates include breakfast and are based on double occupancy, except for the family room.

We accept Mastercard, Visa, cash, personal or traveler's checks. Reservations confirmed upon receipt of one night's deposit or credit card guarantee. Cancellations required at least one week prior to date. Late cancellations and no-shows will be billed the quoted price of the accomodation. If we are able to book your room or rooms, you will be billed $15.00. Check-in from 3 to 6 pm, check-out before noon. Please advise us if you will check in before three or after six. We are a smoke-free extablishment. However, you may smoke on the deck or patio if other guests do not object. Indoor smoking is not allowed. We do not have the facilities required to accommodate pets.

All guest rooms require stair climbing. Don't forget that our altitude is 8600 feet.

From U.S. highway 64 go south through the village of Angel Fire or New Mexico 434. You will pass the country club followed by a small lake. Start looking for highway marker 31. Barbara's is located 0.2 miles south of mile marker 31 and is on the east side of the road. Drive to the top of the driveway by the house where there is room for 3 vehicles.
